The Wall In The North
A "cabin-sized castle" for Bart & Michelle Niedner.
Coming to Pike County, MO in 2020.
We are in the Design Development phase, exploring SIPs and other options. Particularly as relates to the curved overhang. We used SketchUp 2018 for early Design Development and have migrated into Rhino 6 for more accurate details and Construction Documentation.
Design Development Images
Rhino 6 with Flamingo makes some nice Ray-traced images.
Earthy. Classic. Timeless.
Early Design Development Video
SketchUp is quick and fun, but it certainly is herky-jerky and fussy when generating a camera pat. Nonetheless, the video was very helpful for design development exploration.
Early Design Development Images
Here are a few quick images from the SketchUp model - several elevations and sections.
Maybe the best thing about SketchUp is the quick light studies. Here are both solstice models.
Do You Know SIPs?
If you have experience with a SIPs building, I'd love to chat with you about it. I've never worked with SIPs and am strongly concidering it for this project.
